When Gabe, Pendleton, my brother, my dog, and I hiked up Eagle Mountain last summer, I ran to the top first and saw deer laying in the tall grass. The white tail deer scared my cousin, and he exclaimed, "Wow! Did you see that deer laying in that grass?"
It was a baby fawn . We new it was a fawn because it had a small bushy tail and small white dots all over its back. My cousin had his b-b gun and tried shooting the fawn.
Many fawn and deer lay in the grass, so he tried shooting them all. He pointed the gun in the air and "Pop! Pop! Pop!" he shot straight up.
Nope! He had no luck at all because he had shot the b-b gun in the air and scared the deer and fawn who ran away, leaping through the tall grass and into the Ponderosa Pine woods.
So we ran down eagle mountain and Gabe tripped on a rock while I kept running.
I stopped and laughed.
He said, ''What are you laughing at?''
I just said, "nothing," but I started running again, and Gabe got angry because we lost the deer. He yelled at me, ''Why did you have to stop?"
