For your reflection on your Photograph 101, document your process.  Create a page using W8 iSearch Reflection as a template. Name it: W8 iSearch Code.

Follow these guidelines-- add to each step as you learn, wonder, and grow in learning about photography.

Process:

  1. What do you want to know?  - about photography; about your topic?
  2. What resources can you find?  - about photography; about your topic?
  3. What is your thesis? What focus will work towards to answer your question?
  4. Gather information from a variety of sources. You need organized notes, reflections, drafts.  - about photography; about your topic?
  5. Draw conclusions in your own words about the information as it answers and supports/refutes your thesis.  - about photography; about your topic?
  6. Draft your essay.  See Photo Essay Tips and Template
  7. Share your essay  for feedback.
  8. Revise your essay and share again.
  9. Finalize your essay.
  10. Include:
    • Introduction with thesis
    • Conclusions drawn from information with specific data
    • Conclusion with final point
    • Sources

Photography:

When you take pictures for the assignment, reflect on what you are learning and doing.

Follow the process above with one addition: Ongoing Reflection Journal

Keep a journal of:

  • Photograpy elements learned
  • Application to your own photography
  • Reflection on what you learned about the process of research, organizing, drafting, sharing, revising, publishing.
  • Think in terms of What Else:

What:   Reflect on your photography notes and choose at least three elements to apply to your photos. Explain:

What is it? (element to learn)

How do it? (what are you supposed to do?)

What I will do? (describe how you will do it and how you will include the element)

So What?

What I did ( describe how you did the task to include the element)

What I learned, including writing and photographic element reflection based on image

Now What?

What will I do next time?

What is the next element to learn?
