Name's Portfolio

You may delete these directions at the end of your grade 8 year, or link to the directions and delete now.

Goal:

Gather examples of your work (called artifacts) through the years that demonstrate what you have learned and know how to do. This page will link to to your work and provide a reflection on each piece or group of pieces explaining what you have learned.

When finished with your portfolio, this page will be show what you know you have learned, and will present it to the viewer.  Always be mindful in your work and reflection of this question: What do you hope your reader will learn about you and your work?

Reflection Directions

Reflection is the heart and soul of a portfolio. Why did you choose these documents? How did they represent achievement of a particular goal or understanding?

1. Write a brief reflection on each piece of work (artifact): What was the assignment/project in which this artifact was developed? Why was it included in the portfolio?
2. If you grouped projects together, write a reflection on each grouping of artifacts by goal or understanding.
3. The top of the page should contain an overview of the portfolio,  a "letter to the reader" that provides an explanation of the overall goals of the portfolio: What do you hope your reader will learn about you and your work?

Repository

Format and add to the table below, you Learning Repository. Organize it thematically (by grade, by subject, by topic, by learning goal) in your own way using your formatting knowledge. Answer:

• What was the context: assignment/project/goal?
• Why did I choose these pieces? What am I most proud to highlight about my work?
• What does this work show about my learning?
• What more can I learn-- what are my goals for the future?
