"Writing in a notebook is a way to fuel up. Supreme superior unleaded. And it’s free.”
~ Naomi Shihab Nye
I accept my writer’s notebook. I will fill it up with my ideas and replace it with another one. I will bring it to class every day. I will create and maintain a “Table of Contents” in the front of the book. I know that sometimes my teacher will ask me to try a new technique, like using the senses or dialogue. I will mark places in my notebook I want my teacher to see. I know I can take my notebook with me everywhere because a good writer needs a place to fuel up with ideas. I understand that my grade is based on using my notebook: using writing tips, writing thoughtfully, writing frequently, and writing in a variety of styles. But it’s my notebook to explore my ideas about the world.
