Actor 1:(Will say)Were doing improper fractions for our school project.
(Will also tell actor 3) Improper fractions are fractions where the numerator is bigger than the denominator.
Actor 2:(will give example on board)How do you make 16/8 in to a proper fraction?
Actor 1:(will answer example)Divide 16 by 8.And that is 2 whole numbers
Actor 2: (checking the answer)Good, you got it right..
Actor 3: Okay now I need help with my homework.I don't get it.
Actor 2:firs of all you need to write it as a fractions not whole numbers. Now do you get how to make improper fractions?
Actor 3:Now I get it.Like I write it as 21/10 instead of twenty-one/ten. So I divide 21 by 10. That is 2 with a remainder of 1. The remainder of 1 is 1 part of the ten, so it is 1/10th. So 21/10ths equals 2 and 1/10th.
Actor 1:Yes but now we have to go and do our homework
Actor 3:Now do you get it (wink at camera)
